February 18, 2016 Resources: Lent; Forgiveness; Religion; Word Study Fallacy

A throwback article to this time last year: Carl Trueman makes some good points about evangelicals observing Lent.
I tend to agree more and more with the stance taken in this article on forgiveness, especially the concept that “forgiveness in its proper sense is not a unilateral action; the offender must instead humble himself to seek it by expressing repentance.”
D.A. Carson has a very good book on this topic, unfortunately much of it is unapproachable for the average person. This brief article highlights one of the fallacies that Carson talks about in his book, the fallacy of Bible word studies.
